AND REMEMBER TO SMILE- Poem

I'm too young to die,
Too tired to live
Too old to keep going
And too poor to give.

Too vexed to be happy,
Too rich to be sad,
I try doing good,
I end up doing bad

I embrace being a bitch
And I fill up with pride,
But attempt to insult me
I'll run off and hide

She says, when I tell her
I must pack it in;
"You're too strong to let them
get under your skin."

They say, when I tell them
I wish I was dead;
"You're too smart to let them
get into your head."

You say, when I tell you
I'm needing your help;
"Try and relax, you must
just be yourself."

Is this what you wanted?
Is this really me?
A coward, just wishing
To finally be free?

The noise in my head,
The pain in my gut,
The hatred, the weakness,
Just want to give up.
